Are we really halfway through the year? Seems impossible. And what do I have to show for it? Certainly not much in the way of concrete achievements, although another 10 podcast episodes count for something. And the finale of the season attracted some satisfying remarks, so all good.
The top event of the month was, I suppose, my Mother’s 100th birthday, the celebration of which (in June) is the reason this entry is as late as it. Also a lot of fun was a bicycling holiday — only four days — in the Po Delta. Like last month’s trip to Sicily, I haven’t written that up yet either. It has been a month full of visits from family and friends.
Back on track; who would blog on May Day?
Still enjoying reminiscing about the glorious trip early in the month, and still haven't written it up. Truth be told, I probably never will, but never say never. Absolute highlight on the last day of the month was a tiny water feature on the terrace. It has a lot of settling in to do, including I hope a dwarf waterlily, but for now the burbling of the solar-powered fountain is music to my ears. Eat your heart out, Charlie Dimmock.
Once again, later than it “ought” to be, but this time the answer is simple: holidays. A glorious couple of weeks tooling around Sicily with one of my best, and longest-standing, friends and the Squeeze. If I wanted to delay this round-up even more, I’d focus first on writing that up, but I won’t.
There’s a very good reason why this monthly update is as late as it is, but as all the delay actually happened in March, I shouldn’t discuss it until April, IYSWIM.
