Received one Valentine yesterday, by email, and I was naturally thrilled to bits. Until I realized that the woman in question had sent the identical message to 71 of her closest friends. She could at least have done them as BCCs. Then I wouldn't be feeling nearly so indispensable.
On line. At home. After waiting since mid-November. And I still don't know what the problem was. Nor, probably, would I understand it if I did. Stand by (but don't, like, hold your breath or anything) for some grade-A bloggage and tweakage.
A really nice story in Smithsonian, about the return of bison to the prairies. There isn't a whole lot of new stuff there, but it is good to see it all brought together, and especially to see how the linkages among the various plant and animal species contribute to the system as a whole.
