I really enjoyed this first episode of , capjamesg's new podcast about the IndieWeb. It was a delightful and interesting conversation, but one section brought up unpleasant memories. Adam talked about Dean Allen and his many good works. I was a fan too, and used Textpattern, the CMS, and Textile, the writing language. I also bought a lifetime's subscription to Textdrive, one of many private individuals who by doing so helped launch the hosting company. Joyent bought Textdrive in 2006 and then in 2012 just dumped the people who had made the company possible. That left a very ugly taste, not just for me but for many other "investors". Enshittification foretold.
